New Domain, New Beginnings

Jan 30, 2005 Filed under: Dev

As promised, I have a new home on the web! It’s markcastro.net! astig! I found this great deal that Yahoo! Small Business is offering and you can buy a domain for $4.95 so that’s just around 280 pesos. Hosting is provided by Marvin’s Web and of course still powered by Blogger (better than my own PHP-written blog before ;) ).

Stay tuned for more exciting updates like the new markMix…surprise na lang kung ano yun!

Another boring Thursday for me since I stayed home the whole day, writing code for my Java homework. I still don’t get this whole classes thing…damnit.

I’m loving my iPod day-by-day. I went to the bank and deposit my payment for my new host (gonna register markcas.com soon) and I thought since I’m passing by Nurniza’s to drop-off some CDs and get paid in return, I figure I’ll just deposit all my money. When I arrived at Iza’s house, she won’t answer my calls since she’s in deep sleep! I ended up just leaving the CDs at the gate and walked home in the scorching heat–I can’t exactly tell how far but it’s VERY VERY far. Of course, I can’t do it all without some music to accompany me…(listening to Sister Hazel which is a band I recently discovered).

The past 2 days has been interesting. Tuesday, Jon and I went to Ayala to apply for a job. You’ve read it right, A JOB. He talked me into doing this web-designing stuffs professionally so we checked out some companies that are looking for designers. One of them is actually making sites with, ehem, adult content!!! Bwahahaha…can you imagine doing that for a living…designing porn sites? Awesome…not that I’m a pervert or anything because I’m seriously not ;) Wednesday, went to Gateway to watch Elektra with Grace. I adore Jennifer Garner and all (big Alias fan and not to mention JG in those red costume…again, me not a pervert) but the movie sucks ass! Soundtrack’s awesome though…I specially like the tracks from Evanescence, Megan McCauley, Jet and Switchfoot.

I got the latest Alias episode waiting to be watched so I gotta go now…see ‘ya.

Lost in the Apple Store at Point Pleasant

Jan 21, 2005 Filed under: TV

I know, I know, I haven’t been blogging lately since I’m a bit pre-occupied with tons of stuffs. There’s writing thesis proposals, laughing at the dorks in American Idol and organizing my music collection. I tell you, correcting ID3 tags of more than a thousand songs…definitely not an easy task.

Just watched 3 shows back-to-back-to-back this afternoon and I’ll do this thing where I comment on ‘em since I’ve got nothing else to write…
Lost - Gets better and better each week. At first I thought it’ll be a boring episode since it is after all Michael’s back story but turns out there’s more to his fatherhood, or lack thereof, as I’ve imagined. And damn you ABC for holding-off the next new episode for 2 weeks after that jaw-dropping last scene!
Alias - Things are going pretty well at the Apple Store (a.k.a APO headquarters). I’m still not feeling the old Alias though with the lack of Rambaldi and of course some heavy story arcs.
Point Pleasant - Me not likey. I’ll probably give this series a couple of episodes more and decide if I’m gonna ditch it or not. I don’t know, it feels like one of those horrible b-movies about the devil. By the way, the actress playing Satan’s spawn? Extremely hot.

Gotta go to sleep, my class tomorrow starts at seven-freakin’-thirty in the morning and it goes on until nine in the evening (with a 4-hour break). I’ll probably just watch White Noise during the break. I get to do another tv mini-thon again tomorrow with new eps of The O.C., life as we know it, Joey and Point Pleasant! Yay! (And yeah, my blog title is corny.)

iPod Therefore I’m Broke

Jan 7, 2005 Filed under: Apple, Life

My iPod is making me spend loads of cash I can’t imagine spending before. Yesterday I went from mall to mall looking for solutions to remove the scratches on my 2-week old gadget and I found iCleaner which costs an unbelievably expensive 1500 pesos! It’s a small damn bottle for goodness’ sakes. Then I bought a clear protector so that I don’t have to use my bulky iSkin and it costs another P950!

Gateway cinemas rock, by the way. The screen is humongous and the sound system is awesome. I don’t like the seats though, it’s a bit hard and uncomfortable at first. I can’t wait when cinema 10 opens–La-Z-Boy seats baby!

The Unbearable Numbness of Being

Jan 5, 2005 Filed under: Life

My class schedule this term officially sucks. I’m here at home because I have, get this, a 7.5 HOUR BREAK on my MWF classes! Plus I have to move my workout from 10:30am to noon which means more people to hog the equipments. You know what, I’m always wondering how come the people at my gym are big, buff guys whereas beginners like me are almost non-existent? I mean those guys gotta start somewhere right? My guess is that newbies gave easily up or they just gave up. Ehehe, I’m mean but it’s true! Heck, if I’m not locked-in with them for a year then I would have given up months ago. Funny thing, It’s very uncomfortable the day after workout sice you’re whole body is just aching but I’m actually looking forward to those.

Arghhh…I just remembered again that I have to go back to school at 7:30 PM!!! This really sucks…
