Perfect moments, don’t you just love it? I’m sitting here at good ‘ol McD on the North Building of SM Mall of Asia with a nice breezy weather and a good view of the huge globe, eating my McNuggets and fries. No wi-fi yet so I’m gonna upload this when I get home though I did detect an access point with an SSID of “SSM MOA” and I was able to connect by guessing the password. So much for wireless security, huh? Here’s hoping they pipe in an internet connection soon and still not change the password.
Seeing the large skating rink, I so want to play hockey. Can I take hockey lessons even though I’m an adult? My competion will probably be 8-year old kids and my reputation will definitely be bruised if I get beaten by them.
I planned to watch X-Men 3 here and learned that the cinemas here resembles the one in Megamall and costs 120 for the upper deck so I only brought 400 bucks in my wallet. But while the ticket lady is pressing buttons to print out my ticket, I noticed a screening for X3 at the “Director’s Club” worth 300 bucks and I just can’t resist, I had to try it. So much for pagtitipid, Mark! Well, if this so called Director’s Club theater is any good then we could see that 300 bucks for a movie a weekly thing.
I’m loving the music of Teddy Geiger. You probably heard his catchy single, “For You I Will” and the songs on the album is just as good as that. He’s like Ryan Cabrera, only with less annoying voice. The songs by Ben Folds on the Over the Hedge soundtrack are awesome too.
It’s 12:45 pm. Time to head for the cinemas to catch my favorite mutants!
UPDATE: Director’s Club cinema is nice. The theater is small but with a big enough screen and with just around 30 recliner seats so you sorta feel like you’re in a private group when you’re watching a movie.
Just got back from the new SM Mall of Asia and my feet are numb! If you’re living under a rock, you probably didn’t know that today is the grand opening but I doubt that because it’s like the whole Metro Manila is in that mall! I never expected that crowd to be that much because that place doesn’t have an MRT station. The opening of this new mall means that I’ll probably be hanging out in Rockwell less and less because this one is just a 10 minute jeepney ride away from our house and it has everything that I need including an IMAX theater to boot, woo-hoo! The mall is still just your usual yada-yada except that it’s huge and you’ll probably be complaining a lot when your mom says “let’s go to the supermarket” but you’re currently in the south wing which means you have to do a great deal of walking.
What really brought me there is, prepare for the mouthful, the San Miguel Coca-Cola IMAX Theater. I’ve been praying to all sorts of gods for years for IMAX to arrive in this country and it’s finally here, just 10 minutes away! The sponsor thing is good because it brought down the price–just P150 (around $3) for an IMAX feature and P200 (around $4) for 3D. Plus, it has this cool Coca-Cola chill lounge which looks like the coke lounge from American Idol complete with tansan stools. Really awesome, it makes you want to buy a Pepsi…kidding! Everest and Nascar 3D are the ones showing until the 25th of May and I chose to watch Everest saving Nascar for next time. When we enter the theater, I wasn’t that much awed. Sure the screen is humongous but the interiors suck! It has this sort of wave thing on the wall carpet and it looks awful. Commenting about the screen, I overheard someone saying “what if Sadako came out there?” and I chuckled a bit. Hee.
They finally turned off the lights and the loud The Corrs music (you’re irressistable…) and I was horrified because what appears in the screen is worse than an 8-storey high Sadako, it’s an 8-STOREY HIGH KRIS AQUINO! THE HORROR! Apparenlty they’re showing ads from San Miguel Corporation before the film and this time it’s Pure Foods Chunkee Corned Beef. Everest was a bit boring. Don’t get me wrong, I love the whole IMAX experience as the views are just breathtaking and I felt like falling into the screen sometimes but the content itself is something you’ll see in the Discovery Channel.
2 hours later, we went to the Main Mall area and guess who’s at Bench? It’s Kris Aquino! Together with “oh-my-Joshua” and James Yap. People are shouting, I cannot believe it. Anyway, I’m hitting the sheets, I’ll probably pass by MoA again tomorrow before class to catch a screening of Over the Hedge. I am so lovin’ this…
Ginny, I hate to tell you this but I saw someone much hotter…
She’s gorgeous!!!
Look at all the things that you don’t have…
She even has all the holes that I need…

And finally, she has the brain to accompany that hot bod…

Lucky for you, Ginny… I don’t have the money to afford her just yet so you’ll still receive all the love that you need for a while.
I haven’t had sleep in 36 hours. All because of two stupid case studies that I have to do for 2 stupid subjects. I know, I used to love programming before but “Theory and Design of Operating Systems” or “Modeling and Simulation Theory” are both useless now if I’m gonna be a pilot. Unless the plane’s computer all stopped working and my co-pilot goes “Mark, quick! Make a new program that is similar to Boeing’s or else the plane’s gonna crash with 500 people!” which is probably never gonna happen. As usual, even though it’s a group work, I’m making it alone and I’m just gonna write my their names afterwards. I prefer it this way since most of them are idiots and they will just destroy my train of thought. I said “most” not all so don’t hate me if ever you’ve become one of my group mates. Well, if you didn’t help me then you’re probably an idiot yourself.
Change subject because this entry is suppose to be dedicated to someone, someone I had to say goodbye to just this afternoon. He’s the one who helped me afford the things that I have now like my mac. He’s the one who helped me not look bad to a date by footing the bill at a bar when I don’t have cash at hand. And most especially, he’s the one who make our trip to Disneyland possible. You’ve probably guess who he is right now, if you haven’t, he goes by the name of Citibank Visa. Got you there, didn’t I? Anyway, today I had to hand him over to my dad as I can’t afford to pay the bills anymore. I became an irresponsible card user and now it’s all my fault that my dad cannot sleep well at night anymore thinking of the loads of cash he has to pay for all the things that I bought, plus interest. I learned my lesson and I’m not gonna be like that again. Hell, I don’t even want to have a credit card anymore ever. I only had it anyway for emergency but back then I define emergency as “that shirt from Celio looks awesome! I have to have it right now or else I’m going to die….waaahhhhh!” Pathetic, I know.
Pandora is awesome. I have discovered a whole lot of new music while coding and made over 3 new playlists on my iPod because of it.
It’s 8PM and I’m going to crash, catch ‘ya sometime.
Have I already mentioned how much I love rainy weather? The mere sound of rain dropping on the roof and hitting our windows makes me all giddy and happy. Summer is over at last, I hope. Can we have storms for at least once a week? OK, I couldn’t even be more insensitive to the people in the provinces suffering whenever there’s one.
I’m quite the opposite when it comes to rain, I actually love going out. Call me sentimental but one of my life’s little pleasure is when you’re seating at the outer edge of a jeepney or an FX, looking out the window and see heavy rain falling out from the sky and trees happily swaying. I even have a playlist to accompany those moments with songs like BJ Thomas’ Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head and South Border’s Buhos ng Ulan.
I’m here in Rockwell now, sipping a hot cup of coffee during a cold weather. There are so many Chinese and Koreans roaming around here and I’ve decided I’m copying their hairstyle. Haha, I have small eyes so I can definitely pull that one off.
